Photo album

Unfortunately, there are not too many surviving photographs of Boleslaw Barbacki and his loved ones. However, some private collections hold photographs taken on various occasions, including ones taken at photographic ateliers of Nowy Sącz, some of the artist at the easel taken in the open air, others with family and friends, and several photographs taken on the streets of cities such as Nowy Sącz and Zakopane (street photography was particularly popular in the 1930s). Barbacki’s passion for documenting reality led him to order professional photographs of his artworks. In 1941, just before the artist died, there were already about 200 of such photographs.
